In New Hampshire, hunting is based upon the tradition of access to private lands, which is a privilege granted through the generosity of the landowner.  Without the access that landowners provide, the opportunity to hunt would not be available to most New Hampshire hunters.

Operation Land Share works with landowners and hunters to address issues landowners experience in sharing their land.

Landowners who enroll in Operation Land Share agree to leave the majority of their property open to hunting and in return are provided assistance in managing hunter access.

Landowner Relations Program
Access for Present and Future Generations of Hunters and Anglers

Hunting and fishing are set deep in New Hampshire tradition and an integral part of our heritage. For those of us who hunt and fish, they are traditions that we strive to pass on to future generations.

With greater than 70% of New Hampshire’s land under private ownership, the key to a quality hunting or fishing experience is the ability to access private lands. If we are to maintain New Hampshire hunting and fishing traditions, it is important to remember that access to private land is a privilege provided to us only through the generosity of the landowner.

Fish and Game’s Landowner Relations Program works in partnership with landowners, hunters and anglers to identify problems landowners experience in providing access and work proactively to address them.

As the foundation of the Landowner Relations Program’s efforts to work with landowners who provide access for hunting, Operation Land Share provides direct assistance to landowners to resolve issues resulting from sharing their land.

Landowner Relations Program efforts are funded through your generous donations, sponsorships and grants.

Treat the landowner as you would like to be treated, and treat their land as you would like yours to be treated.
