The NH Division of Forests and Lands is celebrating its 100th anniversary! This event is open to the public and will include planting an area devastated by the tornado of 2008. Division foresters will be teaching children and adults how to properly plant a tree in the forest. The seedlings will be provided by our NH State Forest Nursery. The public is encouraged to participate by trying their hand planting trees in this Centennial Plantation. There will be exhibits, hikes and short informational programs about tree and native plant identification, Pine Barrens wildlife, fire ecology, forest insects and diseases, and much more. Smokey Bear will be in attendance. Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase. |

A day of fun outside on our rolling fields, sheltered between the Ossipee and Sandwich Mountain ranges. Activities: apple bobbing, face painting, and pumpkin decorating, fun games in the field. Parents and community members are invited to visit the Audubon Center at Massebesic Lake (just down the road from our hike) after the hike for a picnic and some nature activities. We plan to start the hike at 11 AM and finish around 2 PM. Parents are invited to brink a blanket, a snack, or let their kids drop a line to fish when we arrive there. This event will take place unless it is raining. |

Festivities continue with rock splitting demos by Andres Institute of Art, music with the Harmonica Saints, and the Grumbling Rustics (old time Celtic Music), and a new "Getting Ready For Winter" animal puppet show. |
